Acacia Wood Chopping Board

Description

Crafted from premium natural acacia wood, this double sided chopping board is designed for durability, hygiene and everyday kitchen use. The end grain spliced construction allows knife blades to sink gently between wood fibres, helping the surface self heal after cutting while protecting knife edges. This structure also improves resistance to cracking, chipping and long term wear compared to traditional straight grain boards.

The board maintains a stable internal moisture balance to reduce water absorption, mould growth and deformation. Its dense acacia wood surface forms a natural protective layer that helps block bacteria and makes cleaning easier after food preparation. Suitable for vegetables, fruit and meat, it offers a smooth, splinter free finish with no unpleasant odours.

To extend service life, wooden cutting boards should be regularly oiled. Proper maintenance fills the gaps between wood fibres, limits moisture infiltration and prevents drying or cracking, ensuring long lasting performance and a clean, reliable cutting surface in any kitchen.

A sustainable alternative

Making the switch from plastic chopping boards to wooden chopping boards is a simple way to reduce everyday plastic use in the kitchen. Wooden boards are made from natural, renewable materials and, when sourced responsibly, have a lower environmental footprint than plastic alternatives. Unlike plastic, wood does not shed microplastics into food over time and is naturally durable, meaning it can last for years with proper care. Choosing wooden chopping boards supports a more circular approach to kitchenware, where products are designed to be long lasting, biodegradable, and better aligned with a more sustainable way of living.

FAQs About Our Chopping Board

Is this cutting board made from real acacia wood?

Yes. The board is made from natural acacia wood, known for its durability, dense grain, and natural resistance to moisture.

What does “end-grain” mean and why is it better?

End-grain construction means the wood fibres run vertically, allowing knives to slide between fibres rather than cut across them. This helps the surface self-heal, reduces visible knife marks, and is gentler on blades.

Is the cutting board double-sided?

Yes. Both sides can be used, allowing you to separate food types or extend the life of the board by rotating sides.

Can I cut meat, vegetables, and fruit on it?

Yes. The board is suitable for preparing vegetables, fruit, and meat. Proper cleaning after each use is recommended.

How do I clean the chopping board?

Hand wash with warm water and mild soap, then dry immediately. Do not soak or place in the dishwasher.

Is it resistant to mould and odours?

The acacia wood surface naturally limits moisture absorption and odour retention when properly cleaned and maintained.
